Cecilia & Jake : Sugarbush Resort : Wedding (Part 2)

I'm visiting my parents down in Virginia, so this is a remote blog post!  We're having fun going to the zoo and playing in the yard, but in bits while Grandma keeps little boys occupied, I've been working on the second half of all the fabulous photos from Cecilia and Jakes wedding at Sugarbush.  Working from a laptop as opposed to my big screen desktop has been an interesting challenge.  Definitely looking forward to returning to my little home office, but in the meantime it hasn't been too hard to look at all these gorgeous images.

So Cecilia and Jake's party was a night full of surprises! The Bride surprised the groom with a dance number with full flash mob accompaniment, only to be surprised herself by her sister and family appearing with guitars and tambourines to lead the guests in a serenade. And I was surprised to learn about something else . . .

Every couple has a story.  And though all love stories are sweet, some make me smile a bit more than others.  "High School Sweethearts" is a favorite of mine.  It seems that doesn't happen quite so much these days, but when it does my heart melts. After meeting both families I was surprised to find out it's a bit of a tradition.  Both Cecilia and Jakes parents where high school sweethearts as well!  And with them as an example it's clear Jake and Cecilia have the best laid foundation to venture into forever together.

Congratulations guys!  It was a gorgeous day . . . thanks so much for having me!

Cecilia and Jake : Sugarbush Resort : Wedding (Part 1)

This is the first of two times I get to shoot a wedding at Sugarbush this season (next is with two house photo in September).  Man I love this venue.  It's GORGEOUS, tucked in the Green Mountains in the breathtaking Mad River Valley. When Cecilia and Jake got in touch, as soon as I heard Sugarbush I was all over it.  Then when I met them for their engagement shoot, it was clear the location wasn't going to be the best part about this wedding. They were so sweet and so in love . . . photographing them was easy.

Driving to Sugarbush is a treat, through some of the prettiest parts of Vermont, and the blue sky and reasonable temps (it's been a little hot around here lately) had us super excited (the other part of 'us' being Elizabeth, second shooter extraordinaire!).    We were greeted by gardens in bloom, the mountain breeze waving through the Queen Annes Lace, and the chair lift cranking along, full of mountain bikers. But that chair was also waiting for a bride (mountain top wedding!)  Since we arrived early we checked out so many of the beautiful details. The flowers, the dress! the best woman's dress (fuchsia crinoline!), pinwheels and sunglasses . .   oh my, so much to capture.  I can't show it all to you, but here's a little taste from the first part of the day.  Stay tuned for more!
