Maura & Nathan : Sugarbush Resort : Wedding (Part Two)

Yay!  I wanted to get the fun photos up before the weekend, and phew! just made it.  It is always so hard to choose from the Part 2 pics...which ones to share, hm.  I narrowed it down and I think you get a nice sense of how lovely Maura and Nathan's shindig was.  In snowboarding lingo, it ended up being a blue bird day on the mountain. Just look at that sky.  And  happy to see that although I don't have any photos of Spencer actually looking at me (I've never had a dog not respond to my "hey dog! look at me" noises...I know, many talents)  I did get one of him looking rather regal and proud.  And I also realized that Nathan and Maura mimmic my husband and I in our Ben & Jerry's choices.  I am a strictly Chocolate Fudge Brownie and Jay is a Strawberry Cheesecake.  It has proven to be a winning combination in my house, so I can only hope it brings the newlyweds many many years of similar happiness.  Congratulations again guys!  It was a pleasure.

Maura & Nathan : Sugarbush Resort : Wedding (Part One)

I got to check off one of my To-Dos - wedding on a mountaintop.  Being in Vermont I suppose it was only a matter of time.  Fitting that I get a "first" for my last solo wedding of the season (Two House from here on out!) And So happy that it was Maura and Nathan that asked me to join them.  I knew when I first met them, and their gargantuan chocolate lab, that they were my kind of people.  It was a bummer that Spencer, (aka 'Dog of Honor'...or is it 'Best Dog?') couldn't get up there for the event, but don't worry you'll see him later.  And honestly, it was so very beautiful that I can't say that there was a single thing missing. The summit location added so much to an already special occasion.   A lovely ride up on the ski lift...the views... and the peaceful quiet.  No distractions from the love. Just as it should be.

This is only Part One, so hm, there really isn't any 'mountaintop' going on yet.   I guess you'll just have to wait.  But in the meantime, enjoy scenes from the base.

Stay tuned for Part Two!

Little Luna : Newborn

Two House Photo was down a man while Carin brewed this little angel...it was hard to wait, but now that she's here it was well worth it.  Luna is all pink and perfect, and just look at those eyes. Oh, and the hair! She's already showing her blondie brothers she's got her own style.  Happy to welcome little Luna to our community.  Looking forward to seeing her grow.   The shutters will be snapping!

Fireworks : July 3 : Burlington, VT

My husband and I took our boys to see their very first fireworks last night.   It had been the first time I had seen fireworks in quite a while as well,  so of course I lugged along my tripod.  I found myself being more drawn to the foreground, getting the people as they looked on at the display. Makes for a more emotional, interesting image I think.  Already taking notes on what worked and what didn't for next year.  #1 on my list is getting a good remote trigger...family portrait in silhouette to explosions! I think I can make it work? And after all,  it's nice to be in a picture too now and then.

Oh, and by the way,  HUGE hit with the guys.  Sam actually walked over to Jay when it was over, threw his arms around him and said "THANK YOU Dad, for bringing us to see the fireworks!"  So damn cute.
